MY VOICE MY FUTURE NGO END OF THE YEAR PRESS RELEASE – 2019

By mvmf on February 1, 2021

At ‘My voice my future’ NGO our aim is to raise a generation of young African leaders with political prowess and consciousness. We intend to do this by eradicating political ignorance in their societies through civics education. ‘My voice My Future’ was established in 2019 and since its inception, we have achieved many milestones. the most notable are; executing our first viral video campaign; ‘Who are we?’ in January 2019, launching our politics and governance workshop tour in Ogun state in may 2019, creating a round table discussion in March 2019, hosting our first MVMF ‘The Great Debate’ event November 2019, and the ‘Clothe A child’ charity outreach in December 2019.
Our activities this year share the purpose to enlighten the wider public that we must work together to achieve the common good of developing our communities through civics engagement whether it is by retweeting a ‘Call to Action’ poster, attending our events, donating to fund our workshop, reading our blogs curated online, becoming a mentor to our students or volunteering to help us, you have contributed to empowering future African leaders to become more conscious of their power and utilizing it for the advancement of their community.
We believe education enlightens us and thus empowers us. one of the united nations sustainable development goals is to provide ‘Quality Education’. We believe that every child must know that they are part of a global community and thus their thoughts and actions can contribute to the development of their community. irrespective of their social or economic background, our duty is to teach them to become global citizens.
MVMF contributed to this goal through our ‘Politics and Governance’ workshops. Our students (aged 15-18 years old) from a range of public schools in Nigeria, had the opportunity to learn from our intense yet expansive curriculum which covers; Public speaking, Civics Education, Public Budgets, History of Nigeria and Introduction to Government and Politics. As a result, some of our students went on to participate in civics duties in their local communities.
We recognize the importance of educating African youths to become effective global citizens; creative, proactive, and committed. Thus, we at ‘My Voice My Future’ NGO remain dedicated to teaching them to solve problems, make effective decisions, think critically, communicate ideas effectively, work with confidence and collaborate efficiently.
we are so appreciative of your support so far and want to take this opportunity to ask you to continue in 2020 and beyond.
